The Legacy League Introduces the CPR Program for 2026

Apr 1, 2026 | Press Release | 0 comments

The Legacy League announced today that several of its owners, who are also former Braves players, will participate in its inaugural "CPR" (Community Provided Reassurance) program. This program calls for participants to unify with local communities to reassure our youth that everyone can work together, promoting "unity in the community" across all lines.

This Friday's CPR program will feature former Braves players hosted at Mac & Bones Mini Golf in Pearl, Mississippi, at 11:00 AM. Members of the Pearl Pirates High School baseball team, along with youth (8-13 years of age) from Jackson's Grove Park youth program, will enjoy a round of mini golf and fellowship, followed by lunch provided by Domino's Pizza. “This generational event will serve as a template for uniting our communities and one of those good traditions we vow to carry forward in this league as we take on the challenge of being our brother's keeper," says Legacy League Commissioner Tim Bennett.

This is more than just a fun event—it's a great opportunity for our students to learn from those who have walked the path before them. Partnerships like this help shape our players into leaders, showing them what's possible through hard work, character, and community support. We are thankful to the Legacy League for investing in our students and our community. – Michael Brewer, Principal – Pearl High School

The Legacy League Owners will participate in the inaugural Colombean Coffee Hot Stove event at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame later that afternoon (Friday, April 3rd) beginning at 2:00 PM. Fans and citizens will have the opportunity to meet, greet, and welcome these players to Mississippi as owners of the 6 Legacy League teams set to take the field in late May 2026. Each Legacy League Team will represent a local City (Jackson, Madison, Clinton, Flowood, Brandon, and Ridgeland). All games will be played at Smith-Wills Stadium, the former home of the New York Mets and Houston Astros (AA) Minor League baseball teams.

"Many of our Grove Park youth baseball teams have been part of the Braves Country program for the last 2 years, and it’s exciting to see these former big-league players coming back here to the Jackson-Metro area to give reassurance to our youth through positive mentorship, fellowship, and leadership. We all recognize the importance that these attributes and opportunities mean to the productive development of all youth.– Clint Johnson, Legacy League – Deputy Director.

This is a free event and open to the public
