With Legacy League Team Owners names like Hall of Famers Andruw Jones (MLB), Tracy McGrady (NBA), 2 Sport Star Brian Jordan, World Series Winner Marquis Grissom, Bernard Gilkey and the son of Hank Aaron – Lary Aaron, the Legacy League announced that the cities they represent will be one step closer to having a name as the finalists have been narrowed to three.
The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame was ground central for former Atlanta Braves players Marquis Grissom, Brian Jordan, Jair Jurrjens, son of Hank Aaron – Lary Aaron, and a video call in from Andruw Jones to show support for the League in which they will all individually own a team beginning play on May 26, 2026.
The Owners say they are excited about continuing to recruit and develop players in the league, but are definitely looking forward to getting a real team name that they can each represent. These names will now be voted on by the public and internally with the administrations of each city. The final team's name will be announced on Friday, April 10th.
The finalists for each city are:
JACKSON: Capitals, Black Sox, New Jack City
BRANDON: Bombers, Reservoir Dogs, Brawlers
MADISON: Monarchs, Marauders, Mockingbirds
CLINTON: Lumberjacks, Big Wheels, Cadets
RIDGELAND: Roosters, Renegades, Renaissance
FLOWOOD: Wings, Fanatics, Flyers
